The subject of the bathers recurs frequently, but the presences emerging from the aquatic element are transfigured in comparison with those of 1998. The female figures don’t look like nymphs, but are real women in the act of having bath. The interplay of masses and the mimgling of the shapes gives room to the lightness of bodies that, immersed and concealed in the water, are no more subject to gravity.
